Bill Donohoe
Bill Donohoe entered the insurance business in
1969 as a life agent with old Met Life. Back
then Met had Debit Agents who walk the
streets collecting premiums. So, as Bill
walked down the streets of Ottawa’s Vanier,
along with the milkman, the breadman and the
postman, you could hear ahead from the doors
and windows, the cry of “here comes the
Insurance Man”.
Bill soon discovered that at the age of 21, that
customers wanted a mature and experienced
agent. So instead of dieing his hair silver,
he left the industry and entered banking.
With encouragement from Sam Albanese of Albanese
Financial of Toronto,
Bill came back to the industry in 1996 as an
associated MGA building a network of agents
throughout Eastern Ontario.
Bill started developing custom insurance products
during that time to fill the needs expressed
by his agents.
One of which includes the one you are to hear
about today.
