 Nick Acocella is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Advisor Group (TAG), a Canadian group benefits and retirement firm that gives independent advisors the technical depth, product breadth, and operating infrastructure of a national consultancy - delivered entirely under the advisor’s own brand.

He founded TAG in 2024 after twenty-seven years in the industry, having watched independent advisors be asked to compete against institutional capability they could not afford to build. TAG was built as the solution: a full-service partner working as a true extension of your team. Earlier in his career, Nick built and co-owned an investment dealer and grew a group benefits firm that he later sold to one of Canada’s largest multi- line insurance brokerages.

His leadership philosophy puts employees, clients, and community ahead of profit - which he treats as a consequence of trust rather than a target. Outside TAG he is a family man, musician, and traveller, and founded a Ride to Conquer Cancer cycling team that has raised more than $500,000 since 2016.
