Ryan Mitchell

Ryan Mitchell, social entrepreneur,
innovator and financial advisor is committed not only to
his many clients, but also to those many consider the
marginalized of society. To those less fortunate than
ourselves, he believes in giving a hand-up and not a
handout, by teaching them innovative, simple ways to
secure their future.
Working with the Salvation Army and
World Vision, Ryan has helped build an orphanage in
Haiti, numerous schools throughout Africa, a seniors
home outside the Cuban capital of Havana as well as
homes in Barbados and Jamaica. Plus, while in Kenya, he
arranged for and provided micro-loans to mothers with
aids who wanted to start their own businesses…
Ryan’s hands-on philanthropy, his
ongoing social commitment, is made possible, in part, by
his success in the world of finance.
At 18, Ryan bought his first condo and
after completing his education went on to a successful
ten year career in the financial industry, working for
the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, managing at one
time over 150 million dollars of financial assets for
over 1000 thousand families. At the same time, he was
one a seat at the Chairman’s council and was CIBC’s top
advisor for two years.
Over the last decade, Ryan has
consulted and provided management expertise to numerous
small businesses as well as multi-billion dollar
corporations. And he has helped raise hundreds of
millions of dollars for many of the same.
What’s more, as an innovator Ryan has,
among other things, helped develop a unique portable
water purifying system that can be sent to war-torn or
storm ravaged areas and made ready to help refugees in
less than a day.
Ryan received a double major degree in
finance from Bishop’s University in 2002, as well as two
post graduate diplomas in International Business (High
Honours) and Human Resources Management.
At 18, Ryan was one of the youngest
instructors in the Canadian Army, and also was one of
the youngest patrol commanders ever with the Quick
Reaction Force during the Bosnia-Herzegovina conflict. For his
service, Ryan received numerous honours, including the
Lt. Governors Simcoe Leadership Award and NATO’s
Peacekeeping Medal for his humanitarian tour of duty.
Currently, Ryan and his dedicated staff at Legacy
Capital Management are focussed on helping clients
secure their financial futures while contributing to
their communities at the same time. Their mission? To
build successful communities one investor at a
time.
